บนพื้นที่กว่า 200 ไร่ อุทยานวิทยาศาสตร์ประเทศไทย จึงเป็นเสมือนเมืองวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีที่มีความหลากหลายของบุคลากรด้านวิจัยและผู้เชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะทางกว่า 2,000 คน จาก 4 ศูนย์วิจัยแห่งชาติ ประกอบด้วย ศูนย์พันธุวิศวกรรมและเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพแห่งชาติ (ไบโอเทค) ศูนย์เทคโนโลยีโลหะและวัสดุแห่งชาติ (เอ็มเทค) ศูนย์เทคโนโลยีอิเล็กทรอนิกส์และคอมพิวเตอร์แห่งชาติ (เนคเทค) และศูนย์นาโนเทคโนโลยีแห่งชาติ (นาโนเทค) รวมถึงบริษัทเอกชนอีกกว่า 100 บริษัท

อุทยานวิทยาศาสตร์ประเทศไทยอยู่รายล้อมด้วย 3 มหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของประเทศ คือ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีแห่งเอเชีย (AIT) มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ (ศูนย์รังสิต) และสถาบันเทคโนโลยีนานาชาติสิรินธร และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกที่ครบครันภายใต้สังคมคุณภาพที่ผสานเทคโนโลยีและวิถีชีวิตไว้อย่างลงตัว

Thailand Science Park – The largest fully-integrated R&D hub in Thailand
Thailand Science Park (TSP), the country’s first science and technology park, established its first phase in 2002 with the mission to promote innovation development and R&D activities in the private sector.  The park is located in the area of 80 acres north of Bangkok, with physical connection to Asian Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, and the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology.  TSP builds the ecosystem to promote and support R&D and innovation linkages among government, academic, and industry, and stimulate the creation of technology business clusters.

TSP, with 300,000 square meters of built-up space, has been occupied by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), which is consisted of four national research centers, namely, National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), and National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), and over 100 corporate tenants, of which 30 percent are international companies.  This close proximity provides an opportunity for corporate tenants to gain access to highly-skilled personnel, testing facility and cutting edge R&D equipment.  TSP community is built around the concept of “Work-Life Integration” to create conducive environment where today’s knowledge workers can live, work, and play.  The perfect innovation ecosystem facilitate interactions and encourage networking among residents, so as to promote the exchange of ideas across various disciplines and collaborations among different groups.

TSP provides a key infrastructure to support technology intensive businesses. Various specialized leased spaces for R&D include bare space and ready-to-move-in lab space in Innovation Cluster 2 (INC 2) complex. The pilot plant and long term leasehold land for scale-up and pre-commercial are also available.  In addition to advanced facilities and business space, TSP offers a full range of value-added services targeted at technology intensive companies.  The operation of the TSP will accelerate the pace of new innovation development and strengthen collaborations among the government sector, private sector, and research institutions, hence, stimulating and driving Industry research and development activities, which in turn will contribute towards Thailand 4.0.
